Description
The Phrygian Dominant Scale (1, b2, 3, 4, 5, b6,b7) is based on the 5th mode of the Harmonic Minor scale. If you’re already familiar with the various modes based on the major scale, it can be thought of as a Phrygian scale (1, b2, b3, 4, 5, b6, b7) with a raised 3rd. It is also commonly referred to as the Spanish Phrygian scale.
In the key of E, it is spelled out E, F, G#, A, B, C, D. The triads create the chords E, F, G#dim, Amin, Bdim, Caug, Dmin.
The progression we’re going to solo over is E, Amin, F.
