Hi everyone...newbie here

Hi everyone,

I live in UK and am 36. I started playing about 7 months ago (finally after dreaming about for 18 years) and love it. Better late than never!

I am also new to Guitar Tricks...I was looking for structure and more complete cirriculum and seem to have found it here. I was looking for this type of product for ages and wasted a lot of time with books that have not worked for me (I need a mix of video and print).

My first week on GT has made my fingers VERY sore as I tend to loose track of time on the lessons. Really enjoy the structure, variety and clear instruction. This helps compliment my 1/2hr a week lessons. Now I have to study my theory (no excuses!)

I am worried how much the hobby costs but I love my little tiny collection, sure it is something huge in the making.

Thanks GT for what you put together: truly great!

Hi 18wheeler,

Sore fingers are good! This is the reaction the Guitar Tricks crew is looking for, thanks for your feedback and welcome to the website! The soreness will go away the more you play.

Thanks guys!

Cheers fellas, really appreciate the support. Had another great series of lessons last night, fingers look like I left them on the stove-top then used a belt sander on them but I assume that is a good thing.

Enjoying the variety of lessons and got stuck into the Country lessons good and proper again losing track of time (really impressed with Lisa McCormick so far!)

I only wanted to own one guitar (my Ibanez is great) but when I saw and held my Tele it felt perfect in my hands and I loved that sound...my wallet melted open and before I knew it I left the shop with it wondering what to say to the wife. Ooops.

Any way back to practice. Only wish I found this site earlier!!!

an easy way to make fingers not sore

if you want your fingers not that sore after you play try squeezing a stress ball to build up finger strength, if the tips of your firgers are hurting try sliding them across some old strings
